Lin Dan Current Badminton Racket: Yonex Voltric LD Force | 2018 – Present

After a bit of disappointment from using the Duora Z Strike, Lin Dan has returned back to using the Yonex Voltric LD Force. Its a racket with extremely thin shaft and a head heavy balance.

But whether he is using a real Voltric LD Force is still in question. There is a controversy that top players use their old Yonex rackets with a new paint job when a new racket is launched. This is to boost the sales of the newly launched racket.

Lin Dan might currently be using a painted version of his old Yonex Voltric Z Force 2. Lin Dan started using the Voltric Z Force 2 in 2014. It is highly unlikely that he changed to a completely new racket Voltric LD Force just few months before the Olympics. Its just a risk that not many athlete will take.

Lin Dan Past Rackets

Yonex Duora Z Strike | 2017 – 2018

Lin Dan was last seen using this racket in tournament in the Sudirman Cup Campaign 2017. After that he used this racket in a Chinese League match where he lost to a 16 year old youngster. He was visibly furious and disappointed with the racket. And he broke it in half!

Before the Sudirman Cup (also in the earlier rounds), he was using his own branded racket the Yonex Voltric LD Force (not to be mistaken with the similarly named and designed cheaper Yonex LD Force).

The Duora Z Strike is part of the Duora series. It has a dual design to the racket – a backhand side and a forehand side. This racket can be said to be something in between the Voltric Z force 2 and the Duora 10. Balance and feel wise, this racket resembles the Duora 10 or the Arcsaber 11.

The head shape and stiffness of the racket shaft resembles more the Voltric Z force 2 and the Voltric LD Force. Lin Dan has changed his game from a more attacking game to a more calculated and rally game. So Lin Dan might have felt that the more balanced Z strike will suit his game more.

Yonex Voltric LD Force Golden| 2016 – 2017

Lin Dan used this racket in the 2016 Rio Olympics. Yonex made this LD racket with shades of golden color, maybe because Lin Dan was aiming to go for a third Gold medal at the Olympics. However he could not even get a bronze.

One of the most popular rackets by Yonex. They came in three Lin Dan Limited colors:

  • Red
  • White
  • Yellow

He won the Asian Games 2014 and Yonex All England 2016 using this awesome and powerful racket.

this is one of the best rackets Li Ning has ever produced. And one of the best rackets Lin Dan has ever used. He became World Champion in 2009, 2011 and 2013 using this racket.

Also he was using this racket when he won the Gold at the London Olympics. It’s a little heavier racket, but the power it delivers is simply incredible. This is a rare racket to get nowadays and has become a collectors item. It must be noted that Lin Dan never used the Li Ning Woods n90 ii (which is stiff like a plank of wood and not a very good racket, don’t buy it).
