Viktor Axelsen is currently using the Yonex Duora Z Strike. He is also the front face ambassador of this racket.

The Duora Z Strike is a racket for the player who needs a lot of power and speed from the racket. While the power of this racket is comparable to that of the Voltric Z Force 2, the Duora Z Strike is definitely much faster.

Axelsen, in a Facebook video, said, “I don’t change my racket frequently…”. This video was when he introduced the racket for the first time to everyone. He uses a Yonex Aerobite String strung at about 34 lbs with this racket.

Past Rackets:

Yonex ARCSABER 11 | 2014 – 2016

The Arcsaber 11 is a very popular racket from Yonex, also one of the best. At first it just seemed like a version 2.0 of the Arcsaber 10. Yonex itself didn’t expect this much appreciation from its customers. This racket is still going strong in 2021 and is used by many top doubles players.

Viktor Axelsen signed his ongoing partnership with Yonex just before the 2014 BWF World Championships. And he won a bronze medal using this racket in that tournament. It was probably his favorite racket.

He stuck with this racket for a long time even when Yonex introduced many new rackets with newer technology. The Arcsaber 11 is an evenly balance racket and primarily used by doubles players. But for someone with Viktor’s height, smash power is never an issue.

With very little preparation he can hit steep and powerful smashes. It seems like he chose this racket to help him in defense, speed etc. These were some of the things he was weaker in those days. Now he has completely conquered these weaknesses.

Adidas AdiPower Pro | 2013 – 2014

Viktor had a short stint with ADIDAS during this period. First he started with the Adipower Pro Racket. This was a head heavy and stiff racket. Then he started using the Adipower DuoForce. And this was an even balanced racket. This can be considered as the point in his career where he shifted from a head heavy racket to an even balanced racket.

Adidas must be kicking themselves now that Viktor Axelsen has become the World Champion and a very big name in badminton.

YONEX Voltric Z Force | 2012 – 2013

As mentioned above Viktor Axelsen used head heavy rackets before the Adipower Duoforce. In 2012, Viktor Axelsen’s badminton racket was the Yonex Voltric Z Force racket. This was a very popular racket back then. Many top players including Lee Chong Wei was using this racket.

Before the introduction of the Voltric Z Force, most head heavy rackets were somewhat slow and sluggish. The Voltric Z Force was a fast yet very powerful racket.
